FOREWORD
Who would think that there is a colonized barrio or barangay fiesta at California USA which features homegrown fiesta similar to fiesta in the Philippines.
The Californians were excited to taste the Filipino "lumping shanghai" that is mostly served at every Barangay fiesta in the Philippines...hmmm ako rin misko ang Lumpiang Shanghai.. :]

But when construction of the 10-story complex was complete in the summer of 1972, the community had a 127-unit building of apartments ranging from studios to three-bedrooms along with an adjoining two-story commercial building.
"We're actually burning the mortgage paper, it is completely paid off after August," Frank Gatdula, social services director at Filipino Plaza, said. "That's the part that we are celebrating at Barrio Fiesta. Filipino Plaza is 40 years old."
Today, the Filipino Plaza still offers affordable housing and businesses make a go of it in the commercial section.
The symbolic burning of the mortgage will be accompanied by all the traditional hallmarks of a good cultural festival.
"It's a great time for the Filipino community. It's a big family reunion," said Doris Unsod of the Associated Filipino Organizations of San Joaquin County. "It's a chance to hear the music and see the dances of the culture."
The whole community is invited to the party.
"This year, we will be serving San Miguel - a beer imported from the Philippines - at the beer booth," Unsod said. "And, of course, there will be all kinds of delicious food."
Dishes such as lumpia, a kind of fried spring roll; pancit, a noodle dish; adobo, which is chicken or pork braised in garlic, oil, vinegar and soy sauce; and other traditional delicacies.
The event takes place in the parking lot of Filipino Plaza and will feature entertainment including music, martial arts demonstrations and cultural dances.
"Some of the dancers that will be performing are internationally known," Gatgula said. "We also have a lot of local talent for the fiesta, some local bands that are very popular."
What's next for Filipino Plaza?
Well, like any good homeowners, the nonprofit that runs the plaza is ready to look ahead and spruce things up.
And that will mean likely taking out a new loan.

HUMOR
wOW ang Sarap naman ng Lumpia Mo California..Patikim nga...Ang alam ko Barrio fiesta or Barangay fiesta is not an original Filipino culture..nag seep narin ito sa California..Pinoy Talaga dinadala ang pagiging Colinized sa Ibang bansa..
PROPECHIZMIZ
Barangay Fiesta or Barrio Fiesta is not a "Proud To Be Pinoy" culture which can be carried unto other countries; but most Filipinos carry their colonized mindset into their journey and will more into other countries because by prioritizing or giving importance to colonial influence they are already loosing their real identity..
